ARIES
Venus, planet of love isn't moving this month, nor next month or the month after, which is not typical for a planet that normally spends less than 4 weeks in each sign and will at some point each month, shift focus. This creates a very stable platform for all things romantic and in your case this is extremely good news for your relationships. For where Venus has gone to ground is in your communication sector, where she's able to give your heart a voice and put heart and mind on the same page. Venus returned to your communication sector on the 4th April, so this is a continuation of what began last month, except it becomes a lot more significant this month, due to her relationship with Saturn, in retrograde motion in your relationship sector. It was always going to be a case that these two will support each other, but it's mid month that this shifts to a whole new level. The only reason that Venus is spending 4 months instead of 4 weeks in your communication sector is that at some point she'll turn retrograde, which she does on the 16th May. It's just a day later that Venus will move into an exact alliance with Saturn in your relationship sector, an alliance that will remain strong for 6 days and even after easing on the 23rd May will continue to a lesser degree. With Venus in retrograde motion in your communication sector and Saturn in retrograde motion in your relationship sector this opens the door to second chances, especially to unsaid words and a chance to make up for lost time.
TAURUS
After Mars, planet of passion turned direct in your romantic sector mid April, May was always going to be the comeback month and after spending the later weeks of April gaining some speed and momentum, you're ready for a fresh start. Mars' retrograde phase created an opportunity to tap back into old romantic passions and to appreciate in hindsight where you've been missing out and where you're able to make up for lost time. But with Mars not leaving your romantic sector until early July you've got plenty of time to put that into action. The Moon's visit to your romantic sector, from the 1st May to the 3rd May, is the first since Mars turned direct and when romantic emotions and passions align they'll create some steam, creating the incentive to make the most of Mars' remaining months here. Considering that Mars will only normally spend 6 weeks in your romantic sector every other year, this is more than enough time to embrace your romantic passions and take a bold new approach to love. The Moon will return to your romantic sector on the 28th May, creating another chance to check that you're on track. It's the Moon's visit to your relationship sector, from the 5th May to the 7th May that creates a Full Moon on the 6th May. This will bring things on the relationship front to a head, as well as providing clues to some big developments in the second half of the year.
GEMINI
When Venus, planet of love returned to your sign on the 4th April it was to give you a chance to tap back into your romantic intentions, to listen to your heart and enjoy the full support of the love gods. Venus' return to your sign each year also marks the start of a new Venus cycle, with a chance to start over and for a fresh start, with the 4 weeks she normally spends in your sign the foundation weeks for all that will follow. This is when the romantic desires and intentions that will define the next 12 months are developed and with the laws of attraction in effect these are usually some of the most romantically charged weeks of any year, but also a time when you know what you want and what you deserve, not only from love but from life in general. Normally here for less than 4 weeks Venus should be gone by the time you move into the new month, but she's not only still here she's slowing down, refusing to leave. By mid month Venus will come to a complete standstill, before turning retrograde and doing a U turn on the 16th May. This books Venus another 3 months in your sign with her now not leaving until August and with the planet of love working directly with you for so long, anything is possible. It's Venus' retrograde turn that opens the door to second chances, taking your heart on a trip down love's memory lane. A sense of romantic nostalgia will reveal what you might have been missing out on, while Venus reminds you that it's never too late.
CANCER
Venus, planet of love and romance returned to a nostalgic part of your chart on the 4th April and as she will normally spend less than 4 weeks here each year, wrapping up your old Venus cycle and working with you to close old doors and lay old ghosts to rest before returning to your sign, she should already be in your sign or at the very least just a few days away as you move into the new month. However, neither is the case, with Venus still in this nostalgic part of your chart and showing no signs that she's in a hurry to leave. It's Venus' retrograde turn on the 16th May that puts your Venus return on hold and as she does a U turn and turns back the other way she'll be moving away from and not towards your sign. Venus won't now return to your sign until August, but considering that that's when huge romantic developments are due to open up, I can see why. In the meantime, Venus is staying put in this nostalgic part of your chart, giving you a chance to take your time and spend much longer, really enjoying and taking in all that this trip down love's memory lane has to offer. With Pluto spending his first full month in retrograde motion in your relationship sector, even your relationship focus is on the past. It's while Venus is still in direct motion that the Moon will move through your romantic sector, from the 5th May to the 7th May. It's during this visit that you'll experience a Full Moon on the 6th May and it's this Lovers Moon that will put things into context, as well as provide some clues to the big romantic developments in the second half of the year.
LEO
On both the romantic and relationship fronts May is a fairly low key month, even more so than in previous years. With Neptune gone from your relationship sector and no long term planetary focus here, which until February had been the case for the previous 16 years, your relationships have a chance to find their own level, with no pressure from the planets or the love gods. With no planetary activity in your romantic sector, but the North Node keeping things on track, so long as you continue to follow your heart and let things unfold naturally, things will take whatever course they need to and all you'll really need to focus on is taking care of any roadblocks in love's path. However, with a lunar eclipse in your romantic sector early next month the Moon's visit, from the 7th May to the 9th May will give you a chance to get your bearings and ensure that you're on track. This is the Moon's last visit before next month's lunar eclipse, with a need to pay attention to any clues and hunches and to how your heart responds. As this lunar eclipse will bring things to a turning or tipping point, don't be surprised if you start to feel some pressure later in the month, looking at where you might be trying to over control or over think things. The Moon's visit to your relationship sector from the 11th May to the 13th May has no hidden agendas and is simply a chance to get your bearings, listen to your intuition and any relevant wake up calls.
VIRGO
On the romantic front things have settled into an easy momentum this month and while there may be some roadblocks and wake up calls next month, this is nothing more nor less than you would expect in any year and is simply part of the natural pattern of things. This makes it important not to project too far ahead, for chances are the things you'll be called out on later aren't even on your radar yet. Instead there is a chance this month to make the most of Pluto's first full month in retrograde motion in your romantic sector, seizing the opportunity this creates for second chances, to tap into some romantic nostalgia and make up for lost time. Pluto is in your romantic sector for 16 years and will spend from April to September each year in retrograde motion, giving you a chance to stop, take things in, reverse back and play some things again. The Moon's visit to your romantic sector, from the 9th May to the 11th May and alignment with Pluto on the 10th May will give you a chance to get your bearings and tap into Pluto's impulsiveness and bold sense of daring, giving you the confidence to take some leaps of faith. While things will become more settled on the relationship front by the end of the month, you have just one more hurdle to cross. You'll reach that hurdle mid month, when for the third time since November 2011 Mars, now in direct motion in your sign will move into opposition with Chiron, planet of healing in your relationship sector. You're likely to feel this building from early in the month but they will move into opposition, from the 16th May to the 19th May, peaking on the 17th May. This is your chance to finally get everything out in the open, with the potential for a breakthrough.
LIBRA
Don't be put off by any relationship pressure, especially in the early days of the month, for it will both ease as the month progresses and is your last chance to resolve things once and for all. The pressure is coming from the fact that Mercury, planet of communication will have to face an opposition from Saturn before leaving your relationship sector on the 9th May, something that he's avoided since first returning on the 3rd March. Mercury will normally spend less than 3 weeks in your relationship sector each year, giving you a chance to open the communication lines and clear the air, always at this time of year. This wasn't a problem until 2010, when Mercury returned to find Saturn in opposition and that has been the case in 2011 and now again in 2012. Like the Sun and Venus in previous months, this has become an annual rite of passage and for the third year in a row Mercury has to face the scrutiny of Saturn, who over in your sign is calling for total authenticity. Mercury and Saturn will move into opposition on the 6th May, which is when any relationship pressure, tensions or issues will peak. However, with Saturn leaving your sign in October this is the last time Mercury or the other planets will be opposed like this again, for another 30 years. This gives you a chance to resolve relationship issues once and for all and with Mercury leaving your relationship sector on the 9th May, it's vital to keep the communication lines open. Where you leave things on the 9th May is where they'll stay, making it important to invest as much as possible into your relationships in the early days of the month.
SCORPIO
Even though Neptune and Chiron are staying on in your romantic sector, after Mercury left mid April this has become more about keeping things in motion, with Chiron continuing the healing process while Neptune works to keep your romantic fantasies and hope for the future alive. You're likely to find that both are tested from time to time, with a need to treat each road bump as both a test in your resolve and a chance to continue the healing process. This is being overshadowed however by events on the relationship front, where everything is coming together. You begin the month with the Sun and Jupiter in your relationship sector, having teamed up last month for the first time here since 2000. When Mercury, planet of communication returns to your relationship sector on the 9th May he too will meet up with lucky Jupiter for the first time here in 12 years, with his short visit creating the opportunity to ensure that the communication lines are open. Jupiter will align with the Sun in your relationship sector on the 12th/14th May and with Mercury on the 20th May, in both instances for the first time since 2000 and for the last time for another 12 years. With Jupiter himself spending his last full month in your relationship sector, not to return for another 12 years, this is the month where you've got to be willing to put everything on the line, putting into your relationships what you hope to get back. With the Sun leaving your relationship sector on the 21st May and Mercury on the 24th May, there is a need to trust that luck and the love gods are on your side, while keeping things real and the communication lines open.
SAGITTARIUS
Your biggest problem this month is that you almost have too much going on and there is only so much time in any given day, only so many days in the month and only so much of you to go around. For not only are romantic and relationship forces both demanding your attention this month, they have stiff competition from professional forces that are choosing what is probably one of the most important relationship months of the year to date, to mount a resurgence. You can afford to put your relationship focus on hold or at least let things chug along under their own steam in the early days of the month, with Mercury's final days in your romantic sector needing your attention. Mercury, planet of communication will leave your romantic sector on the 9th May, making the early days of the month essential for working with Mercury to ensure your heart has found its voice and that heart and mind are on the same page. Even if this hits a roadblock, as it may do around the time of the Full Moon on the 6th May, keeping the communication lines open will see you through. Once Mercury leaves however your relationships will demand your attention with Venus, planet of love turning retrograde in your relationship sector on the 16th May, a week to the day after Mercury leaves your romantic sector. While this will open the door to second chances, with the Sun returning to your relationship sector on the 21st May, a solar eclipse here on the same day and Mercury returning on the 24th May, this won't be at the expense of new doors opening. This brings you to a turning point on the relationship front and the start of some very special times ahead.
CAPRICORN
Jupiter, planet of luck and expansion has been in your romantic sector since June 2011 and has now become a familiar part of the scenery, with your biggest danger being that you could be taking this for granted, not appreciating that this is an advantage you're about to lose. This is Jupiter's last full month in your romantic sector and as he's leaving next month and won't return for another 12 years, there is a growing sense of urgency when it comes to finding out just how far this could take you. With Jupiter in your romantic sector what you put into the game of love will take you further, create more potential and is more likely to see things ultimately work on your behalf, with the more effort put in the more you'll get back. However, if you're waiting for this to happen on its own and you're not putting anything in, then more of nothing is still nothing. It's just as well then that Jupiter has some powerful allies this month, who are here to help you bring things over the line and up to speed. The Sun is already in your romantic sector as you move into the new month, with Mercury returning from the 9th May to the 24th May. This is the first time since 2000 that the Sun and Mercury have met up with Jupiter in your romantic sector and it will be their last encounter here for another 12 years, with a need to leave no room for regrets or for 'what ifs'. The Sun will align with Jupiter on the 12th/14th May and Jupiter on the 20th May, just a day before the Sun leaves on the 21st May. With the focus not shifting to your relationships until next month, May is all about romance, trusting in the love gods and doing what you can to give love a fighting chance.
AQUARIUS
When the love gods got together to decide how to divvy up the romantic advantages this month, they must have decided to give it all to the Aquarians, because that's how it looks. You begin the month with Venus, planet of love in your romantic sector, which considering she returned early last month is slightly but not totally surprising. While Venus will normally spend less than 4 weeks here out of each year, she won't reach that point until the 2nd May and it's only as the days progress that you'll get your first real sense that something is different. For instead of moving on Venus will start slowing down and instead of a sense of urgency that normally kicks in during the final days of what are the most romantic days of any year, a quiet sense of confidence will tell you that you've got all the time in the world and you have. That's because on the 16th May Venus will turn retrograde, not only opening the door to second chances but booking herself a further 3 months in your romantic sector, not leaving until August. It's just 5 days later that the Sun will return to your romantic sector and with a solar eclipse on the same day, while the door is open to second chances and will remain open, the door will also be open to new beginnings. Mercury's return to your romantic sector on the 24th May will give your heart a voice and a chance to put heart and mind on the same page. Yet even then a sense of anticipation and confidence will tell you that this is still the warm up for something much bigger. The love gods are on your side in a big way this month, with the right mix of time, second chances and new beginnings.
PISCES
On the 4th April Venus, planet of love returned to your home and family sector, which will normally put her less than 4 weeks away from your romantic sector. It's here that Venus begins preparing for her return to your romantic sector, working with you to make your life and your home life in particular, as love friendly as possible. On the 2nd May it will have been 4 weeks since Venus reached a point that normally puts her less than 4 weeks away from your romantic sector, yet there is no sign of her and as the month progresses you'll start to realise that she's not coming. She'll get here eventually, but not until August and on the 16th May will turn retrograde and begin moving away from, rather than towards your romantic sector. This may create a bit of a letdown, but with the Sun and Mercury both returning next month and Venus in August, this is simply delayed not put off. As is usually the case this works to your advantage, for this is a month where the focus needs to be on your relationships. This is Mars, planet of passion's first full month in direct motion in your relationship sector, with a chance to focus instead on getting things on the relationship front back up to speed. The Moon will make two visits to your romantic sector, the first from the 1st May to the 3rd May and again from the 28th May to the 30th May and they're likely to be like night and day. In the first visit relationship pressure is still building and won't come to a head until the 16th/19th May. Yet with communication a major advantage all month this creates the potential for a breakthrough, especially as you have until August to bring things up to speed. |
